K & S Contractors, Inc. is a family owned and operated business located in Dallas, GA. Kelli & Steve Jernigan (K & S) started up K & S Contractors, Inc. as a residential construction business in 1994 and have since expanded into commercial construction. Steve Jernigan has been working in and around the construction industry for over 30 years. We are licensed by the state of Georgia and insured through Builders Insurance.
We specialize in custom residential & light commercial construction (Less than 50,000 sq ft). Though times have been slow in the construction industry due to this sub-prime mortgage crisis, our corporate structure allows us to continue to provide a great product at a low cost. The use of subcontracts enables us to minimize our expenses. This structure wins us many of the projects that we bid because the more we can lower our expenses, THE LOWER THE PROJECT COST! The contractors we employ are some of the best in their fields, many of which have provided us excellent service since our start in 1994.
The Team
Steve Jernigan (President) – Steve has been working in and around the construction industry for over 30 years. His role as President is to oversee all operations of the company. From Beginning to end, this includes assistance in the design phase, originating negotiations with owner, assistance with and final review of proposals to the owner, contract execution, job site supervision, project management, and most of all…insuring that the owner is happy with the time frame and designated budget.
Andrew Jernigan (Job Site Supervisor) – Once contracts are executed, Andrew's job is to oversee the day to day operations of the job site from beginning to end. This includes scheduling, supervision, and overall project management. Andrew takes the plans and specifications and turns them into reality. Additionally, he helps to insure the owner’s overall satisfaction throughout the project. Many times, as a project starts to come together, owners will want to add items that were not including in the original drawings. Andrew is the person who assists the owner with any concerns he or she may have.
Derrick Jernigan (Office Manager) – As the office manager, Derrick's primary role is to monitor and maintain the company’s finances and bookkeeping. He also drafts the project contracts, project proposals, and maintains the financial side of project management.
